Movement is medicine, so it’s important to find your favorite activity so working out doesn’t feel like a chore but instead something you look forward to.

Food for real life

Health starts in the kitchen, they say. I believe it starts in the grocery store. There is a lot of trial and error that goes into finding the right foods to fuel your life because everyone is different, whether you like sweet or savory, have gluten or lactose intolerances, or hate the smell of cilantro like me. You have to keep experimenting until you find what works!

Balance above all

At the end of the day, it’s really about balance. You can absolutely indulge in a sweet treat after a long week, but don’t let that mean you’re going to skip your gym date tomorrow morning. Go for a 10 mile run and then enjoy some beers after. Turn Dry January into dry-er January because you think you deserve a beer for every mountain you climb. Life is to be enjoyed after all, not restricted.
